Don & Cheri Floyd Give Now
On two different continents, Don and Cheri each began to follow Jesus as young teens. Don was in a small coastal town in Australia, and Cheri was in rural Tennessee. In 1989 Don and Cheri met as mission volunteers in Papua New Guinea (PNG). They were married in 1991 and began to serve The Wesleyan Church of PNG full-time. They have been blessed to find that their individual love for God, for PNG, and for each other have so naturally grown together.
Don is a trained carpenter and building contractor. He supports the PNG Wesleyan Church through building, maintenance, and training men in these skills. Cheri finds joy in health education and women's ministries. The Floyds have also worked in Bible college teaching and administration. The three Floyd boys do Australian distance education lessons.
The Floyds continue to find their ministry most fruitful when they seek maximum involvement in PNG church congregations and communities while exercising minimal control. Don and Cheri believe they serve God best when they support, encourage, and submit to the leadership of their Papua New Guinean friends.
This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers (1 John 3:16 NIV).
