Philip Gormong

As a Mobilizer for Global Partners, Philip recruits and coaches individuals on their journey to missionary service. Additionally, he assists local churches in The Wesleyan Church of North America with clarifying their global vision.

Philip grew up in Zambia, Africa, where his parents, Dan and Nancy Gormong, served as Global Partners missionaries. After graduating from Indiana Wesleyan University with a major in psychology and minor in biblical literature, he traveled to New Zealand on a two-week trip led by Dr. Jim Lo. There, God confirmed Philip’s call to ministry. He went on to pursue a M.Div. from Wesley Biblical Seminary.

Philip and Kara, his wife, served in Vladimir, Russia, for two years with Global Partners on a church planting team. Upon returning to North America, he served as the associate pastor at Faith Wesleyan Church in Terre Haute, Indiana.

In his free time, Philip enjoys watching football, playing soccer (the other football), listening to and finding music, and watching Netflix. He also enjoys Chinese food, especially General Tso’s chicken with lo mein.

He is excited to be a part of the mobilization team and to use his passion for missions to help others in their own call.

Philip and Kara have four children: Adalynn (7), Gwenyvere (6), Asher (3), and Paxton (1).
