Mary Beth Bagley

Mary Beth was born and raised in southern Africa as a missionary kid (MK). In high school, God ignited a deep passion in her heart to use her experiences to minister to other MKs. After serving on several short-term mission trips and as a teacher to MKs in Central Asia for two and a half years, Mary Beth’s passion for MK care has only continued to grow as the need has become increasingly apparent. Now, as she steps into a new role as Global Partners MK Wellness Specialist, her greatest desire is to empower MKs to embrace their Kingdom identity.

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! –1 John 3:1a NIV

A Question of Value

October 25, 2019

“Is this FOR us or is this just to keep us busy while our parents are in meetings?” 10-yr-old *Victoria, an MK, voiced her concern at the start of Missionary Conference.

My heart wept as I heard these words and the blunt emotion behind them! My stumbling, “Yes, of course this is for you!” seemed to fall far short of answering her deeper, unvoiced question, “Am I really valued?”

As I made the extra effort to demonstrate my own love for *Victoria over our following days together, playing cards, swimming, and eating meals together, God was even more faithful. Through our lessons, He reassured her that she was created, chosen, Christ’s and called to a specific purpose. God created her to be incredible and gives her value beyond measure.

“I was made for this, made for a purpose,” *Victoria sang softly as she worked on her craft the last day. Smiling up at me she said, “That song keeps getting stuck in my head!”

“Yeah, mine too.” I smiled knowingly. God is so faithful!

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
