What is Community Health Evangelism (CHE)?

CHE is a tool or system that allows you to address the “felt needs” of local communities through a holistic biblical approach that does not separate ministries of compassion and spiritual wellbeing. CHE is a template that allows diverse individuals and communities to use the principles of development in a way that applies to them and their particular needs. CHE is not a latrine project, a rural project, or a fix everything project. It is a method that empowers and mobilizes local people to do the work of God in their communities and through their local church.

How does CHE work?

CHE is first of all focused on community. Community is defined as a group of people with common interests that are willing to work together for a common goal. CHE is also focused on holistic health. We define health as physical, mental, social, and spiritual. CHE has its foundation based on education that works to bring health to the whole person. CHE trains community leaders to establish and lead the program in their own community. Local volunteers are trained to go from house to house with lessons that address the needs of their own lives.

“You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind” (Luke 10:27 NLT).
