Orphan Intervention and Foster Care – East Asia
WM06-1248 | Compassion, Medical
Many children in orphanages, especially those who are developmentally falling behind their peers, are not given much stimulation and encouragement to play, think, move and explore. In some extreme cases, lives are at risk without immediate acute care and long-term intervention. In order to offer these kids a healthier environment to increase their chances of proper development and a greater likelihood of adoption, our team works to place those with greatest need for acute, sometimes surgical, intervention, nutrition, positive attention and love. Finding foster caregivers in our city is a challenge. Sometimes a lack of finances prevents a willing national caregiver to volunteer. The team works with local believers to develop a culture to care for these needy kids.
