The Well–Church Facilities in New Zealand

WM06-1515 | Church Planting, Construction/Property, Education, Evangelism, Leadership Development, National Church

The Well was planted in 2013 by Clint & Jamie Ussher and their team in Christchurch. It is the first Wesleyan Methodist Church (WMCNZ) in the South Island of New Zealand and was a significant and strategic step for the WMCNZ. From the outset, the vision has been for The Well to serve as a multiplication centre for future WMCNZ church plants throughout NZ’s South Island.

God has provided The Well with the incredible opportunity of purchasing their own facility. It is a former Rugby League Clubrooms in a prime location.

These facilities will serve as the home and gathering place for The Well, but also as the Resource Centre for training and resourcing further WMCNZ church plants throughout NZ’s South Island. Having permanent facilities is a significant and mission strategic for The Well in Christchurch. Having suffered major earthquakes five years ago, the people of Christchurch have experienced displacement in all areas of life – homes, workplaces, schools, shops, clubs, etc. Thus, there is a very high value for Christchurch locals on established places that offer some degree of permanence and stability.

The Well have been blessed in order to finance the purchase of this property, however it is badly damaged as a result of the earthquakes and requires repair and refurbishment. Contributions made to this Project Fund will be used toward the cost of repair and refurbishment.
