East Asia National Ministry Shares
This ongoing need directly supports partnerships with the local church where sharing the Good News through tangible means builds favor for the local body. Past gifts have been used to drill water wells in a remote area of our province, give Christmas and Easter gifts to orphans and nursing home residents, provide seed funds to nationals who work to help the body send their own missionaries, help with the costs of locals who take their own short-term cross-cultural trips, provide the local body with educational materials, even helping a national cross-cultural worker with acute dental care. These funds are used to cover needs that are not part of the normal budget for LIGHT, or fall outside of the scope of LIGHT’s work but help the Global Partners missionaries achieve Global Partners objectives. These funds helped pay the first few years’ costs of exploring various ways to help the local church get connected with cross-cultural Good News sharing, which was instrumental in LIGHT developing the new missionary-sending program resident doctor training program.
