La Gonave and Fauche Hospital Medical Fund — Haiti
For more than 50 years The Wesleyan Church has provided compassionate medical ministry to the country of Haiti from several locations. At present the primary medical facility is the La Gonave Wesleyan Hospital with a clinic in Fauche Port Margo. As well, the mission supports extension clinics in communities and schools across the country and responds to medical crises when the need arises. In order to create a sustainable system, patients are charged modest fees for care and medicine, but many cannot pay even these small amounts. This fund exists to provide a way for friends of the hospital and clinic to resource those who are unable to pay for their own medical treatment. Our guiding principles as a Christian mission do not permit us to refuse treatment in critical care situations, but responsible fiscal management requires that this deficit be funded. Five percent of the donations to this fund will be used for specific marketing and administrative costs for the 365 Challenge Project.
