Scholarships for Converted Muslim Children — Sierra Leone

WM06-1017 | Education, Evangelism

This scholarship fund is for the support of Muslim children who have been allowed by their parents to attend schools that are sponsored by The Wesleyan Church of Sierra Leone. They are Susu kids who come from the Tambaka Chiefdom, and have been converted through the Wesleyan evangelism programs. Providing a Christian education for them usually means that they will have to live with a foster family for the duration of their education. There are currently 18 of these children in the Wesleyan education program.

The average annual cost is $525 per child. This amount pays for uniforms with shoes and socks, exercise books, pens, text books, non-school uniform clothing, and 4 bags of rice with ingredients for sauce to go on the rice.
