Many Global Marketplace Paths, One Mission
God is at work among the nations, yet billions of people still have little opportunity to hear the gospel, meet a Christian, or experience a community of Jesus followers.
Global Marketplace Multipliers (GMMs) are Christians who use their careers as a platform for living out their faith and participating in disciple-making among the nations. They are teachers, engineers, healthcare workers, entrepreneurs, consultants, tradespeople, students, and many others who recognize that God can use their skills and professions to increase access to the gospel in strategic places around the world.
At the heart of Global Marketplace Multipliers is a simple conviction: God wants both your faith and your work. The abilities, experience, and opportunities He has given you are not separate from His mission. They can become meaningful avenues for serving others, building relationships, and making disciples where Christ is not yet widely known.
As J.D. Greear has said, “God made you good at something. Do it well for the glory of God, but do it somewhere strategic for the mission of God.”
“God made you good at something. Do it well for the glory of God, but do it somewhere strategic for the mission of God.”
There is no single pathway into this calling. God uses people in a variety of professions, seasons of life, and circumstances to help bring gospel access to places where it is limited and to participate in disciple-making among the nations.
Different Pathways in the Global Marketplace
Already Working Internationally
Some GMMs are already living and working in another country. They faithfully serve in their professions but would like to learn more about intentionally building relationships and participating in disciple-making where God has placed them.
Preparing for What’s Next
Others sense God leading them toward international tentmaking and are taking practical steps to prepare. They are ready to explore opportunities, develop skills, and seek guidance as they discern how God may use them globally.
Transferring Through an Employer
For some professionals, an international transfer provides a natural pathway into a strategic location. Existing employers and industry networks can open doors to communities that may have limited access to the gospel.
Pursuing New Opportunities
Many GMMs are skilled professionals who are open to new positions internationally. They are seeking opportunities where their career and God’s mission can intersect in meaningful ways.
Working Remotely
Remote professionals (often called “digital nomads”) often have the flexibility to live and work in different locations. This freedom can create unique opportunities to build relationships, engage with people from diverse cultures, and live as faithful witnesses in new communities.
Launching a Business
Entrepreneurs can create businesses or social enterprises that meet real needs, contribute to local communities, and provide long-term opportunities for gospel influence and disciple-making.
Studying Abroad
Students have a unique opportunity to experience life in another culture, build friendships across borders, and develop a heart for God’s work among the nations while pursuing their education.
What’s more, your path may not fit neatly into a category. God often works through unexpected opportunities and unique circumstances. If you are wondering how your profession, skills, or experience might connect with God’s mission among the nations, we would love to help you explore what that could look like.
Taking the Next Step
Global Marketplace Multipliers do not serve alone. They connect with training, coaching, community, and ongoing support as they learn to integrate their work and their witness in the places God leads them.
Whether you are already working internationally, considering a future move, exploring a career transition, or simply wondering how God might use your profession for His purposes, there is a place for you in this conversation.
If you sense that God may be inviting you to use your profession as part of His mission among the nations, we encourage you to learn more. Watch the introductory video on the GMM page here and explore how your skills, experience, and career could help increase access to the gospel where it is needed most.
We invite you to also contact the GMM team at gmm@gponline.org. We’d love to connect with you, hear your story, and help you discern your next steps through our no pressure process.
