PEOPLE OF HOPE & POWER — EVERYWHERE TO EVERYWHERE

PEOPLE OF HOPE & POWER — EVERYWHERE TO EVERYWHERE

As a Global Wesleyan Church on May 23, 2021, we celebrated our heritage and hope in the experience of Pentecost with Together, witnessing to the experience of the filling and leading of the Holy Spirit. The event included participants from nearly 60 countries around the world. Though different in language, culture, and experiences, we were one in seeking the power of the Holy Spirit.

Together was preceded by many individuals and global churches joining in 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting. These prayers, lifted during an ongoing global pandemic, carried so many of us through… and kept us focused on the necessity of sharing the life-giving message of Christ with those who have yet to hear. Together became a time of encouragement and hope. Many have been forever marked by their experiences with the tragic loss of loved ones, friends, and concern for those yet to encounter Christ; still amid the journey they have remained people of hope. Together, we have discovered, at a deeper level, what the Apostle Paul came to know through experiencing God’s faithfulness:

We boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

Romans 5:2b-5 (NIV)

I trust that you will not only discover deeper levels of the hope of Christ, but that “together” we will find ourselves even more committed to the mission of Christ—Everywhere to Everywhere.
